FMCSA Clearinghouse
Everything else about your compliance program, we handle. This one thing you have to do yourself — so here is exactly how, screen by screen.
The Clearinghouse is a federal system. Designating a C/TPA requires your verified identity, and the FMCSA provides no way for us to act on your behalf until you've granted permission inside the portal. There's no API and no workaround. Any provider who tells you otherwise is either doing something they shouldn't, or asking for your login — which you should never give anyone.
Most people who stall out stall here. Identity verification can take a few minutes or a few days if a document doesn't scan cleanly. Start it before you need it.
Use your login.gov email and password. If you don't have an account yet, create one — you'll be returned to the Clearinghouse automatically when it's done.
Select the Employer role. If you drive under your own authority, you're both the employer and the driver — register as the employer.
Scan your license or passport and take a selfie. Your name is pulled from that document and can't be edited later, so make sure the scan is clean.
This is the screen people can't find. It's under your dashboard, not under settings.
Grant all three: run queries, report violations, and report return-to-duty results. If you miss one, something will silently fail later and neither of us will know until a query bounces.
The designation lands in our dashboard and we accept it. You'll never need to log in again unless you want to.
ADD VIDEO Record your screen doing this once and embed it here. It's free to make and it is the highest-converting asset on this site.
Federal law requires a query on every driver, every year. Missing them is the single most common violation found in audits — more than 18,000 were issued between 2021 and 2025.
Required before a driver performs any safety-sensitive function. We run it and document the result.
If something goes wrong, the reporting obligations are strict and time-bound. We handle the filings so you don't miss a deadline.
Call us. We'll stay on the line until it's done. It's usually ten minutes.
